The Sole E35 is the premium model in the Sole starter lineup.

And the Sole E95 is the premium model in their mid-range lineup (the mid-range lineup is built with heavier construction and a few more perks than the starter lineup).

Both give you similar front-drive construction with an impressive double-wheel-track design which you don’t often find in home ellipticals these days.

They’re both also designed with Sole’s famous 2 degree inward angle on the footpedals.

This helps to put your body in a more neutral alignment and reduces stress on your hips and joints.

Sole E35 vs E95 Elliptical – Console

The Sole E35 console measures 7.5 inches and is backlit and easy to read. You get feedback on the essentials like your time, heart rate, calories, workout program and more.

There are easy incline and resistance change buttons as well as buttons for the built-in workout programs.

There’s also a built-in fan to keep you cool and media dock with speakers – so you can plug in your devices and listen to your favorite workout mix.

The console on Sole E95 gives you many of the same feedback stats, buttons and programs – along with the fan and media dock.

The main difference is that the E95 console is bigger – 10.1 inches vs 7.5 inches on the Sole E35. This makes reading your workout stats a little easier.

Also note that the background color on the E35 elliptical is white and the background color on the E95 is black. Black looks cooler – but some people don’t like looking at a black background with white lettering as it can irritate their eyes.

Sole E95 vs E35 – Flywheel

A heavier flywheel can give you a smoother feeling ride. It can also help to anchor the machine for added stability.

Basically the harder you plan on working your elliptical machine, the heavier the flywheel you’ll want to get.

The Sole E35 carries a 25-pound flywheel – which is pretty good. But the  Sole E95 goes a bit further with a 27-pound flywheel, making it the better choice for heavier use.

Footpedals Differences

Both elliptical trainers give you adjustable footpedals. So you can adjust the toe-heel angle and help to find the best fit for you. This also helps to reduce toe numbness and sore Achilles tendons after long workouts.

However the E95 gives you 10 different positions for the footpedals whereas the E35 only gives you 3 different positions.

So you have a bit more freedom to drill down and really customize your workout feel with the Sole E95.

It’s also worth noting another upgrade: While the E35 footpedals are standard, the E95 footpedals include durable foam cushioning – making them more comfortable for longer workouts.

Sole E35 or Sole E95 – Stability

The E95 has a bit more weight and substance to it – along with the heavier flywheel this helps to make it just a bit more stable feeling than the Sole E35.

It also has a higher user weight capacity (400 lbs vs 375 lbs) so again, it’s built to take a bit more use and abuse than the E35.

Bottom Line?

So what’s the bottom line when deciding between the Sole E35 vs E95 elliptical trainers?

Well, they both give you tough, solid construction with great design and ergonomics – something Sole is particularly good at.

They also both give you integrated tablet holder with USB port. So you can watch your phone or tablet and get some great entertainment while working out.

However there are a few key differences.

The Sole E95 has a bit more substance and stability to it with a heavier flywheel as well as a larger, easier-to read console. It also gives you upgraded footpedals and more customization options for a more comfortable workout.

However the Sole E35 is no slouch either. It’s also a very solid machine that easily competes with the high-end models with a heavy, thick steel frame and power incline. It’s also more affordable.

Sole has added Bluetooth tracking and connectivity this year to both models – so whichever one you choose you’ll be able to sync your workout results online to set and achieve new goals.
