They’re both also designed with Sole’s famous 2 degree inward angle on the footpedals.
This helps to put your body in a more neutral alignment and helps to reduces stress on your hips and joints.

There are however, some important differences between them.
This post will help you compare between the Sole E35 vs E55 elliptical trainers – to help you make a more informed buying decision.

The Sole E55 trainer is the next model up and comes in about a hundred dollars more. You can get it direct from the Manufacturer for around $1499 with Free Shipping here.
It’s not a huge difference. But it does lead to the next question – what do you get for the extra money on the Sole E55 trainer?

Sole E35 vs E55 Elliptical – Console
The Sole E35 console measures 7.5 inches and is backlit and easy to read. You get feedback on the essentials like your time, heart rate, calories, workout program and more.
There are easy incline and resistance change buttons as well as buttons for the built-in workout programs.

There’s also a built-in fan to keep you cool and media dock with speakers – so you can plug in your devices and listen to your favorite workout mix.
The console on Sole E55 gives you many of the same feedback stats, buttons and programs – along with the fan and media dock.
The main difference is that the E55 console window is bigger – 9 inches vs 7.5 inches on the Sole E35. This makes reading your workout stats a little easier.

It’s not a huge difference really. But for some people, they prefer to have the largest screen they can get.

Sole E35 or E55? Space Considerations
If you have a condo, apartment or smaller workout area, you may want to have a more compact elliptical design. The Sole E55 was built to be more compact than other Sole trainers – including the E35 trainer.
The Sole E35 footprint measures 31 x 82 inches.
The Sole E55 footprint measures 27 x 71 inches.
So the E55 trainer is both shorter and narrower than the E35. If space is an issue in your workout area, you may prefer the E55 in this case.

Footpedal Differences
Both elliptical trainers give you adjustable footpedals. So you can adjust the toe-heel angle and help to find the best fit for you. This also helps to reduce toe numbness and sore Achilles tendons after long workouts.
However the E55 gives you 10 different positions for the footpedals whereas the E35 only gives you 3 different positions.
So you have a bit more freedom to drill down and really customize your workout feel with the Sole E55.

Sole E55 vs E35 – Flywheel
A heavier flywheel can give you a smoother feeling ride. It can also help to anchor the machine for added stability.
This is one area where the E35 outshines the E55 elliptical.
The Sole E35 carries a 25-pound flywheel.
The Sole E55 has a slightly lighter 20-pound flywheel. This is most likely a tradeoff because of the more compact footprint on the E55 model.
And it’s not a deal breaker. But if you want the heaviest flywheel – and you don’t really care about space, then the Sole E35 might be a better choice here.

Bottom Line?
So what’s the bottom line when deciding between the Sole E35 vs E55 elliptical trainers?
Well, they both give you solid steel frames, great design and ergonomics – something Sole is particularly good at.
They also both give you integrated tablet holder with USB port. So you can watch your phone or tablet and get some great entertainment while working out.
However there are a few key differences.
The Sole E35 is slightly more affordable, with a heavier flywheel.
The Sole E55 elliptical has the larger console screen and the more compact design – making it great for smaller workout areas.
So it comes down to your personal situation and preferences as to which one is best for you.
