Nordictrack C 7.5 Elliptical Review – Highlights:

The Nordictrack C 7.5 Elliptical is Nordictrack’s most affordable elliptical in this year’s new lineup.

Coming in under $800 you get a lot for the price including an extra heavy 20 pound flywheel for added stability and a generous 20 inch stride.

Many people also appreciate the fact that it’s a front-drive design (meaning the flywheel is placed in front of the pedals).

While there is no general consensus as to which elliptical design is best, many people feel that a front drive trainer feels a bit more stable than a rear drive machine as the flywheel is directly under the console.

Nordictrack C 7.5 Elliptical – Console Strengths:

The console is not as fancy as other Nordictrack’s consoles. But it is bright and backlit with a scrolling message board that leads you through the steps of your next workout.

There’s also a sturdy bracket above the console for your tablet. So you can watch your favorite movies or shows as you workout. And because it doesn’t cover the console, you can watch both your shows and see your workout stats at the same time.

There’s also one-touch resistance and incline buttons along the side of the console for quick, on-the-fly changes. You also get a built-in multi-speed fan and an iPod dock with speakers to listen to your favorite workout music.

Up to 20 Degree Incline

Incline changes the slope of your elliptical pathway – helping you to target and work different groups of lower body muscles. A lot of people really like the extra crosstraining they get with incline.

You don’t usually get such a high degree of incline (or power incline) on a machine under $800 – so it’s a real steal to find here.

Because it’s power incline you can change the incline settings from your console without having to get off the elliptical (like you do with manual incline).

Nordictrack C 7.5 Elliptical – Work Your Lower Body Fully

The C 7.5 elliptical also comes with a generous 20 inch stride – another feature you don’t usually find on a trainer under $800. Stride length is the furthest distance between the pedals.

A longer stride length feels more comfortable for most people – without the jerky stop-and-start motions you get with a too-short stride. It also helps you to more fully work your lower body muscles.

Travel the World with iFit

Another great option to help you reach your fitness goals is iFit. iFit LIVE (now called iFit Coach) takes your trainer online for even more tracking and workout options. You can track your workouts over time to see how far you’ve come and even set new goals.

You can follow personal trainers as they lead you all over the world in challenging workouts – from Paris to Hawaii.

You can also run world-famous trails on your own (or map out a new trail with Googlemaps). You’ll watch real life landmarks pass you by in the console screen – very cool.

Note that because the console is limited on this trainer, if you want to get the full effect of iFit, you’ll need to use your tablet and connect with iFit that way.

Nordictrack C 7.5 Elliptical Review – More Benefits

The Nordictrack C 7.5 elliptical also comes with 26 different built-in workouts to spice up your workout routine. These were designed by a certified personal trainer.

The workout will automatically adjust your incline and resistance to meet a specific workout goal like heart rate and calorie-burning.

The 22 resistance levels can add more challenge to your workout. And the multi-speed cooling fan in the console is a nice comfort touch that again, often doesn’t come at this price point.

Nordictrack C 7.5 Elliptical Review –  Any Downsides?

The Nordictrack 7.5 elliptical doesn’t come with some of the fancier bells and whistles of Nordictrack’s higher end models like controls on the hand rails or a free wireless heart rate monitor.

And the console – while bright and easy to read – is smaller than most at 5 inches across.

Also be aware that iFit Coach is an online subscription based service. To try it out you’ll need an online subscription which you can get from the Manufacturer here.

You don’t need iFit to use the elliptical – it works just fine without it. iFit is more of an optional add-on if you ever want it.
