This post will help you compare the Nautilus E616 vs E618 elliptical trainers to help you make a more informed decision.

So let’s jump in:

As of this writing the Nautilus E616 has a slight advantage. You can get it around $999 with a code for Free Shipping here.

The Nautilus E618 is the next model up – the premium model in the series. You can get it for around $1399 with a code for Free Shipping here.

So what kinds of extras do you get with the premium model? Here are a few things to consider:

Nautilus E616 Footpedals

The Nautilus E618 trainer has the edge when it comes to stability. It comes in with a heavier flywheel and a heavier machine weight (210 pounds vs 173 pounds on the Nautilus E616 trainer).

It also has a higher user weight capacity – 350 pounds vs 300 pounds on the Nautilus 616.

This means it’s going to feel more stable for you – especially when you really work it.

This also makes it a better choice if you plan on heavy use of your elliptical – or if there are multiple users in your home. Basically the Nautilus E618 is built to take a bit more use – and abuse – vs the Nautilus E616 trainer.

Nautilus E618 Footpedals

The Nautilus E618 elliptical comes with adjustable footpedals. So you can adjust the toe-heel angle to a position that feels most comfortable for you.

Different toe-heel angles also help you to work different lower body muscle groups – which is a nice option to have.

The Nautilus E616 comes with oversized, articulating footplates – meaning they follow the motion of your ankle to give you extra support. But they are not adjustable like the E618 model.

You’ll also notice that the back roller track is a bit more substantial on the E618 elliptical vs the E616 model.

The Nautilus E618 trainer upgrades to curved, multi-position hand grips with integrated incline and resistance controls as seen below:

The controls on the moving arm bars are handy as you don’t have to constantly reach up to the console to change your settings. Also, you can work different upper body muscle groups with the multi-position hand grips.

You’ll also notice there are slight differences in the console with the Nautilus E618 having a few more quick-adjust and quick-program buttons. So it’s a bit more convenient to scroll through your options on this console.

Console Differences

Both elliptical trainers give you a dual-color, dual-window, backlit console with media shelf and charging station.

However the console on the E618 model tilts forward and back. So you can find the most comfortable viewing angle for you – or tilt it down to see the TV easier.

The Nautilus 616 elliptical console does not tilt.

Stride Length

Stride is the furthest distance between the pedals. A longer stride feels more natural for most people – and it helps you to more fully work your lower body muscles.

The Nautilus E616 elliptical comes with a 20-inch stride – which is quite good.

However the Nautilus E618 elliptical steps it up to a 22-inch stride – which is excellent.

Nautilus E616 Elliptical
Bottom Line?

So what’s the final verdict when comparing the Nautilus E616 elliptical vs E618?

Well, they both have benefits.

The Nautilus 616 elliptical is the more affordable option – and it does give you everything you need for a good, solid workout including the dual-roller-track design, long 20-inch stride, power incline and lots of built-in workout programs.

The Nautilus 618 elliptical however is built to take a bit more of a beating – with a heavier machine weight for higher stability and a longer 22-inch stride.

Plus there are some comfort perks too like the adjustable footpedals and the multi-position handlebars.

So at the end of the day it comes down to what you’re looking for.
